A private whiteboard with end-to-end encryption
Whiteboards hold roadmaps, architecture and half-formed ideas. Wobbleboard is built so that sharing a board doesn’t mean handing its contents to a server: encryption happens in your browser, and the key never leaves the link.
What “end-to-end encrypted” means here
- Boards you share are compressed and encrypted with AES-GCM in your browser before upload.
- The key is placed in the link’s fragment (after
#). Browsers do not send fragments to servers. - The service only stores ciphertext, so it can’t read your drawings, text or images.
- Anyone with the full link can read the board — so share links the way you would share a password.
What stays on your device
Your working canvas is autosaved in your browser’s own storage. Nothing is uploaded until you start a session or create a share link. There is no required account, and the app does not need your email to draw.
Honest limits
End-to-end encryption protects content in transit and at rest on the server. It cannot protect a link that is pasted into a public channel, or a device that is already compromised. If you sign in to save drawings to your account, those cloud drawings are stored under your account rather than as link-encrypted shares. See the privacy summary for the details.
Frequently asked questions
Can the service operator read my shared boards?
No. They only hold ciphertext; the key is in the link fragment, which isn’t sent to servers.
What if I lose the link?
The key can’t be recovered from the server, so an encrypted share can’t be opened without the full link. Keep an exported scene file as a backup.
Is anything tracked while I draw?
The drawing app does not include advertising trackers. See the privacy summary for what is stored and where.
