Open and edit .excalidraw files online

Got a .excalidraw file from a colleague, a repo or a download? You can open, view and edit it right in your browser — nothing is uploaded, and no account is needed.

How to open a file

  1. Open the Wobbleboard app.
  2. Drag the .excalidraw file onto the canvas, or choose Menu → Open (Ctrl+O).
  3. The scene loads and fits to your screen. Edit it like any other drawing.

Other files it can open

  • PNG or SVG exports that were saved with the scene embedded.
  • .json files that contain a scene.
  • Library files (.excalidrawlib) from the library panel’s import button.

Save and export

Save back to .excalidraw from the menu, or export an image for docs and slides. Files are processed locally in your browser. If you want a deeper comparison with other tools, read the Excalidraw alternative page.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Opening a file is processed in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you start a collaboration session or create a share link.

Why does something look different after opening?

The file format is shared, but rendering details and a few newer element types can differ between tools. Fonts may be substituted if the original font isn’t available.

Can I open several files at once?

Open them one at a time. To combine drawings, copy elements from one canvas and paste them into another.
